Request
Does the government have data pertaining to cases of discrimination brought against employers by woman who were or are pregnant. If some how many cases have there been on record and what were the outcomes of each by category?
Response
For the period from 2016, when the first matching appeal was received, to 2022, 23 employment and discrimination appeals relating to pregnancy were received by the Jersey Employment and Discrimination Tribunal. Of those appeals which came to a final hearing one was decided for the claimant, two for the respondent and one was struck out. The remaining 19 appeals received did not come to a final hearing because they were settled, by JACS or privately, or they were withdrawn.
