Potential hospital site reviews (FOI)

Potential hospital site reviews (FOI)

Authored by States of Jersey and published on 29 February 2016.

Request

I would like to know how much has been spent on reviewing potential sites for the new hospital since the 1/10/15 please.

I would like this to include assessing the sites and any plans created for the sites.

Thank you.

Response

All Scheduled Public Authorities (SPA) are separate legal entities for the purposes of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

Therefore, if a request comes in via the States of Jersey Central Freedom of Information Unit, it will be disseminated to the most relevant SPAs that are central States of Jersey entities.

In respect of this request, Jersey Property Holdings, who are now operating under the Department for Infrastructure, have responsibility for the delivery of the Future Hospital capital asset project and are therefore the most appropriate department to handle and respond to this request.

The amount that has been spent reviewing potential sites for the new hospital since 1 October 2015 is as follows:

2015 (from 1 October 2015 to 31 December 2015)   £320,417.00
2016 (from 01 January 2016 to 19 February 2016) £52,611.25
Total £373,028.25

The amount spent includes the costs spent reviewing the compensatory part options in relation to the People’s Park site option, and re-running the evaluation and site assessment scoring process as well as assuring the assessment undertaken.

The costs include, therefore, direct costs to external suppliers, but also an apportionment of project team costs, and overheads associated with the project team office / administration.

Project team and project office costs have been apportioned on a percentage basis.
