Can you please explain why the Governor's office is considered outside the Freedom of Information. It is a government office and should therefore fall under the same rules surely?

Response

The Office of the Lieutentant-Governor is not a scheduled public authority specified in Schedule 1 to the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 and the Office is therefore not covered by the Law.

The Office of the Lieutentant-Governor is not a government office, it is the Office of the Lieutenant-Governor. The Lieutenant-Governor is appointed by Her Majesty the Queen for a five-year term and is the representative of Her Majesty the Queen in Jersey.

Further information on the expansion of the Freedom of Information Law (to companies owned by the States only) was published on 15 December 2015 and can be found below.
