Please advise how many GST registered businesses there are in Jersey.  How many of those are overseas retailers and how many are non-overseas retailers?

Please advise how many of those are GST registered voluntarily, that is under the £300,000 threshold?

Please advise how many imported products were stopped at customs for GST in 2022 and the total amount of GST charged accordingly?

As of July 2023, there were 2,437 active GST registrations. The breakdown requested is not held by the Government of Jersey, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

For further information relating to Overseas Retailers that have registered to charge GST, please see the link below to a previous Freedom of Information response:

Overseas Retailers Registered for GST (FOI)

Of the 36 registrations from overseas retailers received this year, 15 were voluntary registrations.

In 2022, 175,438 consignments were stopped by JCIS pending GST payment. £6.3m was collected by JCIS in respect of these consignments.
