Please advise the following:

A

How many Jersey Graduate Teacher Training Programme (JGTTP) students were taken on to the course  in September 2022?

B

How many JGTTP students were on the course still on the 1 January and 31 May 2023?

C

How many of those students will have completed the course by 21 July 2023?

D

How many of those students passed the course and will now be an Early Career Teacher (ECT) in September 2023?

E

How many of the JGTTP students will be employed in a school in September 2023?

A

23 students were enrolled in the Jersey Graduate Teacher Training Programme (JGTTP) in September 2022.

B

Due to low numbers, it has been determined that to provide the number of students enrolled in JGTTP on 1 January and 31 May would likely breach the privacy of individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law has been applied.

C

Due to low numbers, it has been determined that to provide the number of students completing the course by 21 July 2023 would likely breach the privacy of individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law has been applied.

D

Due to low numbers, it has been determined that to provide the number of students who passed the course and will now be ECT in September 2023 would likely breach the privacy of individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law has been applied, however, all students who passed the course and are now Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Due to low numbers, it has been determined that to provide the number of students who will be employed in a school in September 2023 would likely breach the privacy of individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law has been applied, however, all students who passed the course have been offered jobs in Jersey schools from either July 2023 or September 2023.

Article 25 - Personal information

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.

3) In determining for the purposes of this Article whether the lawfulness principle in Article 8(1)(a) of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 would be contravened by the disclosure of information, paragraph 5(1) of Schedule 2 to that Law (legitimate interests) is to be read as if sub-paragraph (b) (which disapplies the provision where the controller is a public authority) were omitted.
