Diagnoses of ocular melanomas since 2013 (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 26 September 2023.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

Please provide the number of people in Jersey diagnosed with ocular melanomas since 2013.

Response

Health and Community Services’ (HCS) records show that 15 people have been treated, or have been referred for treatment at a specialist tertiary centre of care, for an ocular melanoma or melanoma in-situ since 2013.

Due to small numbers, HCS is unable to provide an annual breakdown of the figures. Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied to protect the privacy of individuals.

Article applied

Article 25 - Personal information

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
