Please provide the crime statistics from 2017 tp date, as was previously provided in the States of Jersey Police Annual Report from pages 17 onwards (see below)

Previously the report included numbers of crimes committed under different categories such as arson, robbery and other crimes.

The data requested should specifically include the following:

  • Burglary (dwelling)
  • Burglary (other)
  • Robbery
  • Larceny (dwelling)
  • Arson 
  • Fraud
  • Computer crime 
  • Hoax 
  • Money laundering
  • Forgery

Please a;lso provide the number of serving officers, crimes per 1,000 people all from the year 2016 to date.

Please see attached table with details of the numbers of recorded crimes.

At the time of the request there were 200 Serving Police Officers. Details of the numbers of police officers for previous years have been released  as part of a previous Freedom of Information request and therefore Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied to this part of the request.

Article 10 - Obligation of scheduled public authority to confirm or deny holding information

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), if –

(a) a person makes a request for information to a scheduled public authority; and

(b) the authority does not hold the information, it must inform the applicant accordingly.

Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
