Emergency plans used after Haut du Mont explosion (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 02 November 2023.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

Please provide copies of the emergency plans that were used by the emergency services when managing the incident at Haut Du Mont on 10 December 2022.

These would be the Jersey Resilience Forum, Strategic Mass Fatalities Plan and all other emergency plans that were used on that day.

Response

The current Emergency Plans that are under the control of the Emergency Planning Department are not public facing documents. The Plans in their current format are naturally sensitive for National Security Reasons.

In order to safeguard National Security, the Government of Jersey will not release copies of emergency plans. Article 27 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article applied

Article 27 - National security

(1) Information which does not fall within Article 26A(1) is absolutely exempt information if exemption from the obligation to disclose it under this Law is required to safeguard national security.
