Please detail separately the amount of ITIS, Social Security and GST that remains unpaid to the Government of Jersey by private sector businesses (as bad debts and other than as part of the normal payment cycle but for the avoidance of doubt businesses that have ceased trading) as at 1 October 2023.

Please provide the number of businesses owing such amounts.

C

What percentage of such amounts outstanding relate to businesses that have received grants or support, including Covid support, from the Government of Jersey in the last five years?

D

Please breakdown the amounts owed by sector such as hospitality, agriculture and fisheries, financial services, construction and so forth.

The Government of Jersey does not have a record of all businesses who have ceased trading; however, the following debts remain unpaid by private sector businesses who have declared insolvent: 

GST£1,816,647
ITIS£1,423,941
Social Security£1,291,705

B

This relates to 45 businesses. 

C

65% of the total relates to businesses that have received grants or support (including covid support).

D

The sector these businesses operate in is not recorded, therefore this information is not held.  Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
