Please outline, on a month by month basis the in-patient bed capacity and the average bed occupancy rate at Jersey General Hospital from March 2020 onwards.

The attached table details the total monthly in-patient bed capacity (available bed days) and occupancy (occupied bed days) for Jersey General Hospital per month from March 2020 to October 2023 (inclusive), represented as bed days per month. Bed occupancy is measured as the count of beds occupied at the midnight census.

Please note, Health and Community Services’ definitions of bed availability and occupancy were changed in October 2023 to align with those used in the NHS (KH03, linked below for reference). As such, the figures provided in this response may differ from capacity and occupancy data published before this date and no direct comparisons should be drawn.
