Response

Please see attached breakdown of the number of students by Government of Jersey school who studied a foreign language for GCSE and A-Level in 2022.

Tables.pdf

As some of the total number of students who studied a foreign language was fewer than five the department has determined that to disclose the exact number would likely breach the privacy of individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law has been applied.

The number of students who studied a foreign language for GCSE and A-Level in 2002 and 2012 is not held in a reportable format; therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Please note that 2022 is the reporting year and not necessarily the year the students obtained the qualification. Qualification could have been obtained in 2021 or 2022. There could also be qualifications obtained in 2022 that are not being counted in this dataset as they have been deferred to be counted in the 2023 reporting year.
