The Government of Jersey is unable to report how many employees reported experiences of sexual harassment in the past five years. It is, however, possible to confirm the number of cases relating to bullying and harassment in the workplace managed by Central Case Management team within the past five years. The numbers are as below:

As an employer, the Government of Jersey will try to resolve any concerns informally, however where the concern is deemed to be serious, it may be necessary to progress immediately to a formal stage; for example, if the concern is harassment or relating to one of the protected characteristics.

The actions taken in accordance with the relevant government policies would include: 

  • facilitated meetings 
  • mediations 
  • fact finds 
  • investigation
  • informal and formal disciplinary actions.
