Request

Please provide the numbers of stop and searches conducted by the States of Jersey Police from 2017 to 2022 including the reasons for which the searches were conducted, in a comparable format to that of the States of Jersey Police Annual Report 2016 below on page 55.

States-of-Jersey-Police-Annual-Reports-2015-2017.pdf

Response

It has been estimated that to provide full month by month statistics for the period from 2017 to 2022 would exceed the timescales prescribed in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. However, in order to provide as much information as possible, statistics for 2017 – 2019 are provided as annual totals. Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been partly applied.

The statistics for each year are provided in the attached document.

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
