Request

Can you please disclose for each of the last five years how much has been spent by each department on IT Consultants, breaking down how much has gone to local companies, and how much has gone to firms from outside of the Island?

Response

Within the Information Services Department of the States of Jersey the definition of ‘IT Consultant’ covers a broad spectrum of technical roles. Their primary purpose is to provide industry-specific subject matter expertise.  These roles include the following:

  • technical systems analysis
  • IT management
  • technical architecture
  • project, programme and delivery management
  • software development
  • IT support

The annual spend over the last five years is broken down below within the first table. It is not possible to allocate spend by department, since the spend is allocated to a central IS budget.
