In a statement to the Corporate Services Scrutiny Board on 21 November 2023, the Chief Minister reported that "the Health Department had recruited 100 new members of staff in the past month”. 

Please confirm these new appointments showing the numbers by Department in both the hospital and the administration of Health and Community Services.

Response

The Chief Minister did not meet with the Scrutiny Panel on 21 November 2023.  The Chief Minister did attend a hearing of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel People and Culture Follow-Up Review Panel on the 20 November 2023. 

There is no reference in the transcript of 20 November to the Chief Minister reporting that "the Health Department had recruited 100 new members of staff in the past month”.
