Please advise the number of rental cars available (or registered) in Jersey on annual and monthly basis for 2019 and 2023.

If available, please also provide the utilisation rates.

A

Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS) does not maintain a monthly list regarding the registration of rental cars, therefore, the requested information is not held and Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

The DVS registration system is not configured in a way that will allow the extraction of retrospective information regarding hire vehicles at a specific date e.g. monthly figures.   However, the following table shows the annual number of newly registered hire vehicles.

​It should be noted that there were 483 vehicles registered as ‘hire’ vehicles at 13 February 2024.
