Please advise the total number of burglary cases reported to your force, broken down by Local Policing area from 2020 to 2023.

For the same period, please confirm the number of burglary cases that were closed without a suspect being identified, again broken down by Local Policing Area

For the same period, please advise the average time it took for police to arrive on the scene of domestic burglary incidents, broken down by Local Policing Area.

The total number of all burglaries recorded by the States of Jersey Police during the past four calendar years is as follows:

The number of burglary investigations closed without a suspect being identified is below:

​*Investigations can be closed without a suspect being identified either because there is insufficient evidence available, or because the victim has declined to support an investigation.

The average time (in hours, minutes, and seconds) taken for police to arrive on the scene of domestic burglary can be split into two categories: ‘emergency responses’ and ‘all incidents’.

Emergency responses:

The below table refers to reported domestic burglaries when the police had reason to believe a suspect may still have been present at the scene. 

​All Incidents:

This table includes all reported burglaries - a mixture of those resulting in emergency responses (as above) and, for example, burglaries that were only brought to police attention several days after the occurrence (e.g., when someone returned from holiday). These latter examples did not require emergency response as there was most likely no suspect present.
