Please provide a copy of the report on the Jersey system of parish rates prepared by a Working Party (chaired by Mr. P.M. de Veulle) dated January 1978. This is referred to at pages 9-10 of Parish Rates: Report of the Committee of Inquiry. Presented to the States on 1 May 1984. 250 1984 P-47 [C_A614_1984_P47]

A search has been undertaken of the records and files held at the States Greffe. The requested document is not held by the States Greffe, therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.

This response has been issued on behalf of the States Greffe. The States Greffe is responsible for the information held by (and on behalf of) both itself and the States Assembly.  Neither the States Assembly nor the States Greffe form part of the Government of Jersey and the Government was not involved either in the examination and retrieval of any information required for this response, nor in the drafting of the response itself.​
