Please confirm the dates, the amount and the offences of all compensation claims awards associated with sexual case law in Jersey. 

Response

The Government of Jersey does not collect data in terms of offence type when recording compensation claim awards and processing payments. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board receive applications from claimants, including offence information, however the Government of Jersey does not receive or hold this information. Therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority” 

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if – 

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or 

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority. ​
