Request

A

Please advise when the lifts in the Government of Jersey offices at Broad Street will be fixed.

B

If there are meeting rooms downstairs, how many people can the largest one accommodate?

C

Can a wheelchair be easily accommodated?

D

How many days was there availability in the largest room for two-hour meetings during the day in March?

Response

A

Front lift nearest Reception

  • Installation 100 % complete
  • Commissioning 100% complete
  • Making good and decoration 100% complete
  • The newly installed lift is now ready to go back into service after its insurance inspection, this lift has been installed/refurbished in line with the original lift and has a fireman switch to bring the lift to ground in the event of a fire, however there still one bit of work to be completed by the alarms company to connect the lift to the fire alarm system so the lift will automatically go to ground in the event the fire alarm system is activated.

Pending any issues, the lift should be fully complete and in service by the end of April.

Middle lift

  • The old unit is now 90% removed.
  • Shaft has been painted.
  • Lifting beam and power supply fitted
  • Project is ahead of program however I would state the original end of June completion for now.

Back of house lift

  • This lift is fully compliant to En81-70 DDA regulations which require a lift car of a capacity of 630 kg and dims of 1100mm wide by 1400mm deep and 800mm clear door opening.

B

A meeting room is available on the ground floor, capable of seating either six individuals around the table or accommodating four to five individuals along with a wheelchair.

C

The meeting room, like others in Broad Street, experiences consistent demand for bookings. Availability for this meeting room is ensured through planning and scheduling via the calendar system.

D

A review of the calendar for March shows seven slots of two-hours where the room was not used and various more for one-hour slots.
