Response

Enclosed [see document below] are copies of [redacted] emails from members of the public and responses relating to the alleged harm to wildlife during the recent clearance works at the Waterfront Carpark.

This work was carried out by the States of Jersey Development Company (SoJDC) and, although SoJDC are not presently subject to the FOI Law (Jersey), we have contacted them for comment.

SoJDC responded as follows:

Jersey Development Company (JDC) is not aware of any wildlife (rabbits or birds) being killed on the Esplanade Car Park during the recent clearance works of the trees and vegetation.

It is intended for the States of Jersey Development Company to come under the requirements of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.  However, a date from when this will come into effect has not yet been confirmed.
