The Government of Jersey does not maintain a list of the 4x4 vehicles that are registered annually.
The Vehicle Registration Register, managed by Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS), does not contain a 4x4 category since some 4x4s will be registered as estate cars or light utility vehicles and so on depending upon the vehicle manufacturers specifications.
Therefore, this information is not held and Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
The DVS system is not configured in a way that will allow extraction of the information and a manual search of records would be required in order to obtain this information.
It has been estimated that to provide the information requested would exceed the 12.5 hours allowed for Freedom of Information responses in accordance with Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has therefore been applied and this part of the request will not be processed further.

The information requested for 2021 up to 30 September 2024 is exempt under Article 23 (Accessible by other means) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.
The Government of Jersey have committed to publish vehicle registration details quarterly on open data:

Information up to 30 September 2024 can currently be accessed using the following link:
