Policy for transgender women in prison

Please can you tell me what the current policy is in placement of transgender women in La Moye Prison. Are they placed in the men's area or the woman's area?

Response

Location or placement of any prisoner at HMP La Moye, including transgender prisoners will be made based on the risk an individual presents as well as an individual’s gender.

The decision-making process will involve a multi-disciplinary approach; with the safety of the individual, and the risk to others being paramount in any decision where an individual may be housed.​
