Request
1. Which schools have ARPs; both primary and secondary?
2. How many children access the ARPs and how has this changed over the past 5 years?
3. I have some information from the Disability and inclusion strategy end of year report (Children, Young People, Education and Skills, 2022)
Can you tell me if these have changed much as I couldn't find the same document for 2023/2024
A 13.9% of compulsory school age pupils in Jersey have special educational needs and/or disabilities (up from 13.4% in 2020)
B This represents 1,435 pupils, of which 273 had a Record of Need.
C Of these 33% have SEMH needs, 22% SLC, 16% specific learning difficulties
D Less than 1 per cent (134 pupils) were educated in special schools
4. Is this still factually correct? There are 33 primary schools (24 non-fee-paying: 24 schools, 2 States' fee-paying and 7 private schools), 13 secondary schools (5 non-fee-paying, 2 States' fee-paying and 6 private schools) and Highlands College which offers further education opportunities. There are 2 Special schools, one which provides support for SEMH (La Passerelle) and one which caters for children with learning difficulties such as MLD, SLD, PMLD and ASD (Mont a l'Abbe)
