I would like any and all data that is possessed by CYPES relating to reading ability of primary and secondary school children in each of the last ten years.

How many Year Six children in Island schools scored higher than 10 or above in their Key Stage 2 (or equivalent) reading tests in the Island in each of the last ten years?

Response

The department have determined that to gather the data relating to the reading ability and test scores of all primary and secondary children over the last 10 years would take in excess of 12.5 working hours, therefore Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Key Stage 2 scaled scores produce results of between 80 – 120, therefore all pupils completing the tests would score over 10.

Below are links to a list of all school websites. Each school will publish an annual data report which contains attainment data which may be of interest.

Primary schools publish teacher assessments rather than Key Stage 2 tests on their websites.
