Could you please tell me, if any further financial assistance has been give to Blue Islands apart from the £8,500,000 loan granted in 2020. Have there been any further loans between 2020 and 2025? If so, how much?

In addition, how much of the £8,500,000 has been repaid?

3)

Are Blue Islands paying interest on the £8,500,000 loan?

If so. What is the interest being paid?

No further loans have been extended to Blue Islands to date besides the £8.5 million loan made in 2020.

Articles applied 

Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means 

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.

Article 33 - Commercial interests

Information is qualified exempt information if – 

(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or

(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).

Public Interest test

Article 33(b) of the Freedom of Information Law allows an authority to refuse a request for information where its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information). 

Whilst it is accepted that the public may have an interest in the requested information, it is considered that releasing this information could affect the commercial interests of the suppliers and the Government of Jersey.​
