Employment of Non-Locals: How many individuals not born in Jersey have been granted permission (licenses) to work in Jersey since 2021?
Population Policy: What is the current population policy of the Government of Jersey? I ask this in light of the fact that, in the UK, approximately 84% of the population is UK-born and the government is actively trying to limit inward migration.
Emigration of Local People: How many Jersey-born individuals have left the island since 2021?
High Net Worth Residents: How many High Net Worth (HNW) individuals have been granted residency in Jersey in the current year? (both for permits and licenses)
Response
Employment of Non-Locals: This data is not held therefore Article 3 of Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
Employment, Social Security and Housing does not hold this data therefore we are unable to answer the question specifically.
However, information showing the labour market reports which are produced by Statistics Jersey and include numbers of individual employees by residential status can be found here: Labour market and employment | Statistics Jersey
Population Policy: The Common Population Policy Annual Report 2024 was published in December 2024 and can be found on www.gov.je via the link below:
Common Population Policy Annual Report 2024
Emigration of Local People: The information required to answer this request is not held.
There is no single channel by which government comprehensively collects information on people leaving the island, therefore it is not possible to give definitive total numbers of all customers who have told us they are leaving or have left the island.
The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 does not require a Scheduled Public Authority to manipulate or create new data sets in order to provide a response. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 therefore applies.
However, this information in response to a previous Freedom of Information request may be helpful: Tell us you are leaving the island’ online form (FOI)
High Net Worth Residents: 14 individuals have been granted ‘Entitled’ status on social and/ or economic grounds as defined under the Control of Housing and Work (Residential and Employment Status) (Jersey) Regulations 2013 since January 2025.
