Could you give me the number of eviction cases from private properties that were handled by the Viscounts Dept last year and the figure for so far for this year.
Could you also give me the number of eviction cases from private property last year that were handled by the Petty Debts Court and how many were successful?
Response
The Court Service can confirm that the Viscount’s Department handled two eviction cases from private properties in 2024. There have been no cases in 2025 up to 15 July.
Of the eviction cases heard at the Petty Debts Court in 2024, nine were brought by an individual against another individual and of those, six resulted in an eviction.
