Good afternoon,

I would like to request a breakdown of A-level grades per subject for each year since 2020 and including 2025. Please aggregate all schools, rather than separating the data by school. In other words, for each subject, I would like the total number of candidates and how many students received each grade. Please provide your response as an Excel file (or Google Sheets/similar).

Thank you.

Response

Information in relation to A-level grades per subject in Government of Jersey Schools for each year since 2020 and including 2025 are provided in the attached document.

Freedom of Information response 742163927

Results include A Level and International A Level qualifications only. Other Level 3 qualifications are taken.

Results are reported in the year that students are deemed to have completed Key Stage 5 studies (age 16-18), however results may have been gained in a previous year.

Where a student has achieved more than one qualification of the same subject group, only their best result has been included.

All results for 2024/2025 academic year are only provisional due to pending appeals/ remarks.

The department has determined that to disclose small numbers would likely breach the privacy of individuals and therefore Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Where numbers are fewer than 5, disclosure control is applied to avoid identification of Individuals.

In some cases, redacting numbers fewer than 5 is still disclosive, therefore some figures have been merged across multiple grades.
