What was the volume (loudness) of the ambulance sirens in 2010 and what is the current volume?
Has the procedure or guidelines around when it is appropriate to use ambulance emergency sirens changed between 2010 and 2025?
Response
Records are not held by the States of Jersey Ambulance Service (SoJAS) on current or historic siren volumes / loudness. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
The Whelen manufactured sirens are a standard fitment in all emergency vehicles.
Guidance on appropriate use of sirens has not altered over the timeframe.
