How many people are employed at Visit Jersey, what was the amount of their grant last year and what was the total amount spent on wages for the department for the year and the anticipated cost this year.

Response

Visit Jersey is not a department of government: it is a separate limited company funded solely by a grant from the Department for the Economy under the non-staff expenditure component of the departmental budget. Visit Jersey received core grant funding of £4.72m for the 2025 financial year together with an additional £2m of funding through the Better Business Support Package.

The Department for the Economy staff cost budget for 2025 is £9.61m (vs £9.96m in 2024) across all areas of responsibility it holds for the Minister for Sustainable Economic Development and the Minister for External Relations.

Other elements of the requested information are publicly available therefore Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.
