Jersey Primary Aeronautical Radar
I note that at the time of writing, the Jersey Primary Aeronautical Radar (JPAR) has been out of order for a number of months, therefore, I would be most grateful if you can answer the following questions: -
1) What are the reasons for non-operation of the JPAR, and if expected to be back in service, why has there been such a long delay and when is it expected to be back in service?
2) Are there any consequences, of any type, including financial, by not having the JPAR operational?
3) If it planned for the JPAR to be none operational, what are the plans for this area in the future?
4) Assuming the Jersey Secondary Aeronautical Radar (JSAR) is currently providing a back-up service, are there any shortfalls in service/data provided when compared with the JPAR?
5) Should JSAR fail whilst JPAR is out of order, what would be the consequences to Jersey/CI airspace operations.
I look forward to your response in due course.
Response
The Ministry of External Relations does not hold any information about the Jersey Primary Aeronautical Radar (JPAR). Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies. The SPA recommends that the requester contact the Ports of Jersey for a response.
