As of July 2016 there are 463 free active cards.

Active Staff 

Staff who work for the Sport Division receive an Active Card for themselves and a second card for one family member whilst they are employed with the States of Jersey Sport Division. Staff who have worked for more than 20 years for the sport division and retire in service receive a card for two years after their retirement.

Active Referral

Some clients of the Exercise Referral scheme receive free Active Cards if they claim income support from Social Security and have:

  • Long Term Incapacity Benefit (more than 60%)
  • invalidity Benefit
  • in receipt of their state pension and receiving income in the form of impairment for personal care and / or mobility

These memberships are valid for one year and are reviewed at renewal.

Active over 80

People who have been full paying members of Active and reach the age of 80 currently receive a free Active Card at the time of renewal after their 80th birthday.

Active community groups

Free Active Cards are issued to several community health groups for staff and clients to use facilities as part of their rehabilitation. Currently these organisations include Silkworth Lodge, Brain Injury, Clairvale, Maison le Pape, Roseneath, Probation, Leaving Care and Mental Health.

Active prize competition

The Active office provides several charities each year with limited period Active Cards as prizes for competitions and raffles. Active Cards are also used as prizes in promotional marketing competitions.
