1. Please provide the predicted A' level results in all subjects undertaken for Hautlieu, JCG and Victoria College against the actual results that students received in 2024 and in 2025.

2. Please also advise how many students who were enrolled as students at Hautlieu in September 2023 were still enrolled in June 2025.

3. From those who enrolled in 2023, how many continued / were enrolled in September 2024.

4. How many students did not take the A'level exam(s) for the course they wereenrolled to study.

Clarification requested

What year groups are being sought? Is it all year groups or is it for new cohorts commencing GCSE (Year 10) or A Level (Year 12)?

The original request is made up of 4 questions, the first refers to Hautlieu, JCG and Victoria College and the next two refer to Hautlieu alone.  We would like to seek clarification regarding the 4th question:

How many students did not take the A'level exam(s) for the course they were enrolled to study.

Is the requestor referring to all schools in this question, as in question 1 or solely to Hautlieu as in questions 2 and 3?

Clarification received

This is just for year 2023-2024 - year 12 cohort and year 2024-2025 - year 13 cohort- relating to the students who have just had their A level results.

I am only asking in relation to Hautlieu for the later questions. The first question on predicted and actual grades was for all 3 schools but I am only wanting info from Hautlieu regarding this as have concerns on their drop out and exam drop rate.

Response

1. CYPES does not hold a dataset which would match predicted A Level results with actual results achieved. In order to respond to this question, CYPES would be required to manipulate and create a new data set. A Scheduled Public Authority (SPA) is not required to manipulate and create new data sets in response to a Freedom of Information request therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

2. 305 Year 12 students were enrolled at Hautlieu in September 2023 of which 268 were still enrolled in May 2025. (Please note: This data has been extracted from the May school census which is our closest point to June).

3. Of the 305 Year 12 Hautlieu students who were enrolled in September 2023, 270 continued/were still enrolled in September 2024.

4. Information is not held on the number of students that did not take the A level exams for the course they were enrolled to study; therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article Applied

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
