Figures on rented homes

I would like to know:

− How many homes are able to be rented to people with unqualified status as of 2025?

− What percentage is this of total homes in Jersey?

− How many homes were able to be rented to people with unqualified status in the years 2015 - current? Please give each year's breakdown individually. e.g. in 2015 - there was x number of homes. 

Please provide the percentage breakdowns, as with 2025, compared with the total number of homes in Jersey.

− How many lodging houses are on the island?

− How does this compare to the last 10 years?

− How many queries have you had from unqualified individuals in 2025 struggling with finding a place to live?

− How does this data compare to the last 10 years? Please provide a breakdown.

Response

The information requested in questions 1, 2 and 4 is not held by the Department for Employment, Social Security and Housing. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

In response to question 3, there are currently 216 registered lodging houses. Employment, Social Security and Housing does not hold data to determine how this compares to the last 10 years therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
