Could you tell me what improvements have been made over the last couple of years regarding early pregnancy concerns by women attending the emergency department. These concerns include where there is potential for an ectopic pregnancy and specifically consider out of hours scanning.

Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied in respect of information available elsewhere.

In addition to improvements identified within the linked responses, dedicated scanning equipment has been introduced so that patients may be scanned within the Emergency Department (by the Gynaecology team) if there is a concern of an ectopic pregnancy, and prescribing for out-of-hours emergency use medication is in place.

Weekly Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) meetings are held to discuss and learn from cases to improve patient care.
