Request 763509549
How long has the Standard Operating Procedure been under development and what is the time schedule for its production?
On average what is the time period between Inspectors visits to catering establishments?
Clarification Request
The current format of your request poses questions, could you please clarify what information you are seeking that can be provided in recorded form.
Additionally, please confirm which Standard Operation Procedure you are referring to.
Clarification Response
In your last reply to me on this matter you stated that the “standard operating procedure" was under review / development. It is therefore this that I refer to. My question being how long it has been under development? When it might be finished? I am trying to ascertain what formula is used to rate restaurants etc. Does each individual who inspects these properties work to a set procedure or do they work to their own?
Response
The Standard Operation Procedure review was initiated in August 2024 and is expected to be completed by Quarter 4, 2027.
The time period between Inspectors' visits to catering establishments is not held in recorded form that could be exported, and to respond to this request would require extraction and manipulation of data to produce new information. A Scheduled Public Authority (SPA) is not required to manipulate and create new data sets; Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 therefore applies.
Article applied
Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority"
For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –
(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or
(b) it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
