Request 763686128
I would like to request the following information for the most recent 12-month period available:
1. The total number of individuals who have moved to Jersey from outside the island and taken up residence.
2. A breakdown of these individuals by ethnicity, as recorded in any official immigration, population, or registration data.
3. If available, the number of individuals who identify with ethnic groups other than “White British" or “White Jersey," based on the categories used in your data collection.
If ethnicity data is not collected or recorded in this context, I would appreciate confirmation of that.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Response
1. The total number of individuals who have moved to Jersey from outside the island and taken up residence between 01/12/2024 and 30/11/2025 is 2,740.
2 & 3. Ethnicity data is not routinely collected or recorded by the department. As this information is not held, we are unable to provide an answer to questions 2 and 3. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
