Number of Jersey students entering a UK LL.B law degree (either single honours or a joint degree) ie first year students at Level 4.
I am looking for this data separately for the following years:
2025
2024
2023
2022
2021
For each of these years if the data can be broken down into the numbers studying at each university, then please do it.
Response
Information in relation to Jersey students entering a UK LL. B law degree at Level 4 for the years requested is provided in the table below. The department is only able to provide numbers of students who have been provided with funding from Student Finance.
The numbers entering the Institute of Law have been provided where possible, however, where numbers are fewer than 5, disclosure control is applied to avoid identification of Individuals.
The department have determined that to break down the numbers further into students studying at other universities, would disclose small numbers and would likely breach the privacy of individuals, therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –
(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and
(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
(3) In determining for the purposes of this Article whether the lawfulness principle in Article 8(1)(a) of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 would be contravened by the disclosure of information, paragraph 5(1) of Schedule 2 to that Law (legitimate interests) is to be read as if sub-paragraph (b) (which disapplies the provision where the controller is a public authority) were omitted.
