I would like to know
1. How much, each year, for the last 3 years, has been spent in civil service time or money, by the States of Jersey Assembly, commissioner of Standards and the chair of Privileges and Procedures Committee investigating complaints against the conduct of Deputy Max Andrews.
2. How many conduct complaints from the public and other States members have been against Deputy Max Andrews and how many have been upheld?
3. How many complaints against the conduct of all States members have been made by the public since the last election, and how many made by other States members? And how many were upheld.
Response
- Information is not held regarding time any spent by civil servants, the States Assembly, and the Chair of Privileges and Procedures Committee. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.
£4,500 can be identified from the invoices of the Commissioner for Standards as having explicitly been incurred from the investigation of complaints against Deputy Andrews. Beyond this, it is not possible to determine precisely the total cost incurred from investigations of any complaints against Deputy Andrews as some invoices received include time spent on other cases. - There have been 2 complaints against Deputy Andrews; both were upheld and were reported to the States at the same time.
- The Privileges and Procedures Committee has considered 9 reports this term from the Commissioner for Standards in relation to complaints, 5 of which were upheld. In each case, a report was presented to the States by the Committee. All such reports are available on the States Assembly website via the link below –
