Response
As noted in previous Freedom of Information responses published to www.gov.je, details of patient diagnoses / indication for treatment are not recorded against the prescription within Health and Care Jersey’s (HCJ’s) Pharmacy dispensing system.
Some medicines used in the treatment of ADHD may also be used for other indications. Annual figures for prescriptions dispensed by HCJ’s Pharmacy for specified medications that may be used in the treatment of ADHD are provided in the attached table.
Dispensing data for the following medications have been considered for this response:
- Atomoxetine
- Dexamfetamine
- Lisdexamfetamine
- Methylphenidate
- Bupropion
- Guanfacine
Figures denote the number of adult patients dispensed prescriptions for the specified medications by HCJ each year, from 2020 to 2025. Data are for all forms / brands / suppliers of each of the medicines. Figures exclude items prescribed and dispensed privately.

As this information is available elsewhere, Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.
Historic waiting list data for 2020 is not available to report from a central record. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
As noted in a Freedom of Information response published to www.gov.je in November 2025, there is no central record of the number of individuals diagnosed with ADHD by HCJ, and no functionality to report this from electronic record systems. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
