Provide any anonymised and aggregate statistical data held by the Courts Service or Judicial Greffe relating to jury service in Jersey, covering recent years (for example, the last 5–10 years), including:
The number of individuals summoned for jury service
The number of individuals who ultimately served on juries
A breakdown of the above figures by gender
Response
1 The Court Service can confirm that the number of individuals called for jury service for 2025 was 2815. Figures for previous years can be found in the annual reports available on the Courts.je website Judicial Greffe Reports and Documents. Article 23 of the Freedom on Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies in respect of the previous years 2021 to 2024.
2 The numbers of individuals who ultimately served on juries each year for the previous 5 years is shown in the table below.
Year
| Total number who served on juries |
2021 | 170 |
2022 | 195 |
2023
| 220 |
2024 | 222 |
2025 | 261 |
3 We do not hold records of the gender of individuals called for jury service and are therefore unable to provide a breakdown of the figures by gender. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 therefore applies.
