Grants for heat pumps are currently provided under the Low Carbon Heating Incentive as agreed in policy HT1 of the Carbon Neutral Roadmap. This is funded from the Climate Emergency Fund.
The following numbers are the value of grants redeemed in the calendar year for heat pump applications, taken from the Scheme Administrator end of December reports for 2023, 2024 and 2025.
In addition, the number of heat pump applications approved in each year is provided. Note that an application approved in one calendar year, might be redeemed in the following year.

Home Energy Audit grants are provided under policy HT3 of the Carbon Neutral Roadmap to support the generation of Energy Performance Certificates. They are also funded from the Climate Emergency Fund.
While having a property Energy Performance Certificate is a prerequisite of the Low Carbon Heating Incentive application process the two grants are administered separately and we do not know if all those receiving a grant for their heat pump also received a Home Energy Audit grant.
However, a high-level estimate of the maximum amount that was spent on Home Energy Audit grants associated with the heat pump installations can be calculated using the maximum value of Home Energy Audit grant available and the number of heat pump applications. Noting that that this doesn’t account for fact that the value of the grant is dependent on the size of the property and has decreased over time.
The maximum value of Home Energy Grant available during the period 2023-2025 was £250. If this is multiplied by the 155 heat pump applications made in those three years it would give a maximum total of £38,750.
