List of homicides per capita

I would like to see a list of homicides per capita from the year 2018 until present.

Response

States of Jersey Police do not hold a per-capita number for homicides from the year 2018 to present, thus Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

States of Jersey Police can confirm the total recorded homicides since 2018 is 5. Please see Table (1).

These cases are based on the number of homicide offences that have been proven in court, and do not include cases where the outcome was a not guilty verdict.

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b) it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
