Was any representative of the Jersey government — including Scrutiny Panel chaired by Hilary Jeune — informed by Dog Trust UK or any UK government body before 31 December 2025 that Dog Trust would be discontinuing third-party liability insurance for XL-type dogs in near future?

The States Greffe can only respond in relation to the Scrutiny Panel chaired by Hilary Jeune: the Environment, Housing and Infrastructure Scrutiny Panel.

The Panel did not receive any correspondence from Dogs Trust UK or any UK Government body regarding the discontinuation of third-party liability insurance for XL-type dogs.

This response has been issued on behalf of the States Greffe. The States Greffe is responsible for the information held by (and on behalf of) both itself and the States Assembly. Neither the States Assembly nor the States Greffe form part of the Government of Jersey and the Government was not involved either in the examination and retrieval of any information required for this response, nor in the drafting of the response itself.​
