Please can you provide me with the most accurate statistics for emergency ambulance callouts related to substance misuse and domestic violence for the years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025.

Response

It is not possible to report data on ambulance callouts related to substance misuse or domestic violence from the central records available; neither substance misuse nor domestic violence can be distinctly categorised in the system, which is designed to capture the presenting medical need(s) for an ambulance attendance rather than the circumstances surrounding the requirement

Whilst details of circumstantial or contributing factors may be documented within individual patient records, the resource required to manually review those records to identify and extract the data requested would exceed the timescales prescribed in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Therefore, Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Article applied

Article 16 A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
