Figures can only be produced where Fibromyalgia, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is recorded as a primary ailment.

As of the 31st March 2026, the information held is as follows.

Social Security benefits:

156 individuals are recorded as receiving Long-Term Incapacity Allowance where Fibromyalgia, ME, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is listed as the primary medical condition.

12 individuals are recorded as being in receipt of the Impairment medical component of Income Support where Fibromyalgia, ME, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is listed as the primary medical condition.

ESSH holds information that a small number of individuals with these conditions are receiving support to access or remain in employment through Back to Work and to remain in employment through WorkWell. Due to the very small numbers involved for both, disclosure of a precise figure could risk the identification of individuals. This information is therefore exempt under Article 25 (Personal Information) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.
