Coronation Park Millbrook recent Tree & Hedge Felling

Coronation Park at Millbrook lost over 30 trees during Storm Ciaran so we are horrified to see more mature healthy trees have been cut down recently.

A 

Please could you give us a list of trees cut down in the park in from November 2025 (I counted and photographed 8 large stumps) and the reason they have been felled. Please could you put the information in a table including the following details - type of tree, location, approximate age, reason for felling.

B 

A significant amount of hedging has also recently been cut down and ripped out, decades old hedge from the west side of the adjoining field and by the Rockery quiet space at the back. Please can you explain why this hedging has been taken down and why this has been done in the Spring months? Does this not go against your own guidelines and our wildlife protection laws because of the damage it can cause to nesting and migrating birds?

The Scheduled Public Authority (SPA) does not maintain a list showing the location of specific trees within Coronation Park, therefore the requested information is not held and Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 applies.

This part of the request poses a question rather than seeking information held in a recorded form, therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies. 

For clarification the work was carried out in February 2026.
