I would like to make a request following the earlier FOI request 835911148, regarding The Postgraduate Bursary:
A
The total amount funded by the bursary in 2025 was £90,000. Does this figure directly represent the amount awarded to the 20 successful applicants in 2025 or is it inclusive of that awarded to successful applicants of multiple year degree programmes in 2024 and 2023?
B
Since 2020, please provide individual breakdown by individual subject area of successful applicants.
For example, it is previously listed as 19 for Arts. Please provide a breakdown per individual subject area (Architecture Building & Planning, Creative Arts & Design, Mass Communication & Documentation) for all subject categories.

The response provided in FOI request 835911148 referred to is provided in attachment 1.
This figure is for the total amount funded by the bursary in 2025, it is for the applications received for that particular academic year and does not include students from previous years.
B
The Scheduled Public Authority (SPA) are not able to provide a breakdown by year for each individual subject areas for successful applicants due to low numbers. Instead, we have provided total numbers for each subject over all years requested. This can be found in the table below.
Where numbers are fewer than 5, disclosure control is applied to avoid identification of individuals. Additionally, the number for the Medicine/ Allied Subjects group has been combined, as providing both numbers alongside the previous information provided could lead to the identification of individuals. Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Article 25 - Personal information
(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.
(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –
(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and
(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
(3) In determining for the purposes of this Article whether the lawfulness principle in Article 8(1)(a) of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 would be contravened by the disclosure of information, paragraph 5(1) of Schedule 2 to that Law (legitimate interests) is to be read as if sub-paragraph (b) (which disapplies the provision where the controller is a public authority) were omitted.
