Request

I would like to request statistical information relating to the employment of registered staff through agencies by a particular sector.

In particular I would like to request statistical information relating to the number of registered staff employed by agencies as so defined in Article 22 (1) of the Control of Housing and Work (Jersey) Law 2012, in 2014 and 2015 that operate by providing temporary staff to the construction and quarrying sectors / industries.

Response 

We do not hold data on the number of staff employed (with employment contracts) for agencies. This is information is held by the individual agencies.

Agencies are not restricted to which sector they can supply registered staff to, so we cannot provide the data by sector as only the individual agencies hold that information.

We can provide the number of registered staff reported as working for agencies for December 2014 and December 2015. This is provided in the table below. The information is derived from the bi-annual manpower surveys. The last available data was in December 2015.
